About Wise
WISE is a free program for fourth and fifth grade girls. The goal is to get girls excited about studying science and engineering and to recognize the importance of education. SMU students help the girls participate in fun science or engineering activities related to the day's theme. One Saturday a month the girls are invited to SMU from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for activities.
WISE es un programa gratuito para las niñas de cuarto y quinto grado. El objetivo es conseguir que las niñas se entusiasmen con el estudio de la ciencia y la ingeniería y que reconozcan la importancia de la educación. Los estudiantes universitarios de SMU ayudan a las niñas a participar en actividades científicas o de ingeniería divertidas relacionadas con el tema del día. Un sábado al mes, de 9:30 am a 12:30pm, se invita a las niñas a SMU para participar de estas actividades.
Women in Science and Engineering strives to increase young girls' awareness of science and engineering by providing positive role models and hands-on exposure to various scientific fields.
El programa WISE (por sus siglas en inglés), Mujeres en la Ciencia e Ingeniería, se esfuerza por aumentar el conocimiento de la ciencia y la ingeniería de las jóvenes al ofrecer modelos positivos y experiencia práctica en diversos campos científicos.
